Activities & Facilities
Aside from the music, festival-goers can look forward to lots of fun outdoor activities for the whole family – or there’s the option of simply taking time out to enjoy the peace and tranquility of one of the most idyllic spots in the Berg. There’ll also be a variety of food stalls catering for all tastes, a beer market featuring several local breweries, arts and crafts, entertainment for the kids and all the necessary amenities (like hot showers) to make the festival as enjoyable as possible. Medical and security services will also be available around the clock.
For the more adventurous...
- Abseiling down the 45m face of White Mountain.
- Fuffi slide across a nearby 100m-wide gorge.
- Paintball.
- Helicopter flips (weather permitting).
- Horse riding is available in the nearby Kamberg valley. Contact Rick or Trisha of Berg Trails at 033 267 7227 / 082 932 2255 or visit www.bergtrails.co.za. The guided trails leave daily at 10.30am, last for 2½ - 3 hours and cost R200 per person.
Less strenuous activities...
- Bass fishing in either of the lodge’s two dams. There’ll be great prizes up for grabs for catching the biggest fish, so don’t forget to bring your rods and tackle!
- Leisurely walks or guided hikes.
- Abundant birdlife for keen birdwatchers.
- Swimming (pack your lilos & inflatables).
- Sight-seeing at nearby tourist attractions like the Bushman Museum at Giant’s Castle.
- Scavenger hunts and other fun activities for the kids.
Festival-goers can also make full use of the lodge’s facilities, including a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; pub with satellite TV; a superette on the premises; games room with table tennis and a pool table; children’s playground and trampoline; plus a large pool and braai area.
